I am Gayela Chapman-McKelvie, recently married and still getting used to the name change. Originally, I am from Texas and have been in Arizona for twelve years. I love both Arizona and Texas, a lot of my inspiration comes from my home state, the beautiful surroundings of the southwest, and animals. I have two children and two grandchildren. I am also the mommy of two Chihuahuas’ (mine), two Australian Shepherds (his), which they go to work with my husband every day, and four quarter horses (ours). We love them all, which they have given us great joy and have been lifesavers for both of us...

I am Gayela Chapman-McKelvie, recently married and still getting used to the name change. Originally, I am from Texas and have been in Arizona for twelve years. Art and creativity have been a passion of mine from an early age. I believe that God gives each of us different talents and gifts to share with others. God has given me the ability to be creative through watercolor, drawing, and crocheting. I am basically a self-taught artist which I have had a few art classes, learned from reading books, and from just creating. As long as I can remember, I have always loved to create things through color and different textures—even spending all my Christmas money on art supplies when I was growing up, but I did not begin painting until I was an adult. Now, I am finally able to devote one hundred percent of my time to be a full-time artist. I will strive to learn something new every day and practice to be the best I can be.

I love watercolor painting, learning new techniques, and to paint different subjects. I love bold and vivid colors. I hope when people see my paintings that they too will be inspired to search out their talents and gifts that God has given them. Some of my paintings have been juried in at the Arizona State Fair and the Avondale Worldfest Exhibit.
