My name is Heather. I am a long time chef, artist, dancer, wellness enthusiast, and certified Reiki practitioner, growing up in a very creative environment, in the foothills of the Adirondacks. My art and photography reflects who I am. While looking at my work, happiness and sorrow are shown throughout. My photography is based on the travel I have taken, trips, zoos, or simply in my own back yard. I enjoy capturing flowers in my work, and creating abstract pieces. I consider myself an intuitive artist. Art, to some degree is always intuitive. Although, there is a difference between painting based on purely technique, and those that are drawn based on feelings. I am about 90/10 when it comes to this. I paint mostly by my intuition letting my eyes and heart do the work, almost in a meditative state. I have taken art classes, so I do pay attention to technicalities like, proportion, line, and dimension, though I do not dwell on those. I become almost trance like while I paint, in a healing state, and my finished piece is completely different than the vision I had when I first picked up the brush.
