The way I come up with an image, is quite simple. I do the work on my computer. I paint the background in, put a color on the background, and use a smudge tool to start shaping the image. Usually I will drag the colors around, making shapes or shadows. As that occurs I start to see the image develope. I do not go into a picture with an idea to create most of the time. I just let it evolve. As it does the picture becomes more clear, then I manipulate it until the picture is complete. Sometimes it can help to take a picture in a certain direction.
