Artist Statement By nature, I'm a photographer but I started out in drawing/illustration. The oil pastels started out in a sketchbook as playful experimentation with a set of oil pastels I found in an office supply store. I've never liked oil pastels because they were so small and didn't offer much color/coverage. The ones I found were "huge" in comparison and allowed me to do what I had instinctively wanted to do with them.
