Artist Statement I’m originally from Seattle, but now, as the spouse of an American diplomat, I travel a lot and seek to make beautiful photographs from around the world. I get to live in capitals such as Kabul or Budapest, and really get to know those features which make each place uniquely beautiful.

In Kazakhstan, there were the dramatic Tien Shan mountains, which rose as high as 24,000 feet as well as the austere beauty of the open steppe. What grabbed my attention most in Greece were the sea, ancient villages and archaeological sites. In Afghanistan, the rugged, moon-like landscape, showing the history of geological activity, left me breathless, while on the US Embassy compound, I amused my colleagues with frequent mornings crawling in the rose garden with my macro lens.
And now, it’s Budapest, with Central European architectural sensibilities and and a rich history. I’m working with statues, narrow streets, the Danube River, and a lot of bridges. We’ll see what I find..

Currently I'm based in Budapest, Hungary, but I've also lived in Afghanistan, Greece, Russia and Kazakhstan. I speak English, Russian and Greek, and I'm starting learn Hungarian. I'm comfortable virtually anywhere in the world traveling by train, taxi or tuk-tuk.
