Description APPLE TREES AT SLIDE ROCK STATE PARK by Lynn Bauer - An apple orchard stands in remembrance of this state park's original roots. This park was once the Pendley Homestead, a 43 acre apple orchard in Oak Creek Canyon, between Sedona and Flagstaff in Arizona. The main tourist attraction in this state park is the incredible 'Slide Rock,' where people slide down the natural slide made of rocks in Oak Creek. But, I found these incredible red rock formations to be stunning with the afternoon light on them...and, the pretty apple trees made a great bright pop of color in contrast.Slide Rock State Park is part of the Coconino National Forest in Central Arizona.
