Artist Statement Born in Detroit, maybe there's some gas in my veins.

I am endlessly fascinated by the vehicles that we make and use, and they way that people make them unique.

A car or a truck can be simply a means of transportation. Or it can express the emotions and opinions of its owner. Like most people, I have an instinctive reaction to a distinctive vehicle. For my blog, Rubber@Road, I try to establish a relationship - however brief - with the car's owner. To find out why they drive this vehicle, and what it means to them.

After a few years of doing the blog, I realized I am accumulating a large number of portraits, if you will, of an amazing array of cars and trucks.

I feel that I am documenting the closing years of the internal-combustion-powered, individually-controlled vehicle.

I am also looking forward to showing some of my other work here; I have a great interest in buildings, and even do some scenics which might look good in your living room :-)

I shoot digitally with Nikon gear, and work with RAW files to bring out detail, or to otherwise interpret my reactions to the subject.

I really hope you enjoy my work. Please leave me a comment, I'd love to hear from you!
