Description This was the first piece I did in August and is intended to make a comment regarding our need and desire for community and yet our inability to connect. Despite proximity or technology, connecting us to or placing us near other people, we often find ourselves feeling alone, isolated and disconnected. This unfortunate by-product of individualism and idealized self-sufficiency is something to consider as we attempt to pursue a happy and satisfying life. Someone once said that the local pub is the best parody of the church and I think this is another interesting thing to ponder and part of my inspiration for this piece.
Duncan Ris, Abbotsford Member Since October 2009 Artist Statement I am young married student currently attending Bible college. I don't know what I am going to do with my life. I rediscovered my love of art and creation the summer of 2009 when I took a month just to paint and then held and auction to sell my paintings. I took art throughout high school and attended film school upon graduation.
My wife, Amy, is a source of both support and inspiration in my art.
