Artist Statement I grab my gear and head out for the sandy shores. Armed with only a vintage camera and an old Jeep (sans a/c), I will be crusing the sands of the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
Specializing in Fine Art Surf, Travel and Documentary Photography.
I love the lo-fi analog photographic medium. Fun, quirky and offbeat portraiture using vinatge and toy cameras.
I love to shoot surf related images using vintage cameras and black and white film.
My paper choices are: TheTorchon by Hahnemuhle, an acid free cotton rag watercolor paper for color work. For Black and White prints I love the Hahnemühle FineArt Pearl- the surface is remarkably similar to a traditional silver gelatin double-weight photo paper.
By combining traditional analog photo capture combined with 21st century post production technology I have developed a hybrid "tra-digital" workflow that allows me to offer my artwork in various sizes and finishes, rather than limiting my output to the 2 sizes often found in my wet lab darkroom.
