Artist Statement My name is Joseph Johnson III. I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. I have been drawing since I was a child, but, in 1996 I decided to give painting a try. Through reading books I discovered a world of endless possibilities. I am constantly discovering (usually by accident) new ways of applying paint to whatever surface I stumble across. I have become particular to painting on 2'x4' ft panels of poplar wood. I would like to share my creations with you.
