Description The symmetry and color of this exposed broad leaf is reinforced by the partially hidden leaves in the background. Its isolation is further enhanced by the darkened non-leaf areas of the image. It is truly a product of the natural world, appearing near perfect, until scrutinized on a macro scale. Then the tiny holes and foreign matter become visible...it is beautiful, but not perfect. Perfect is only in man's mind, not in nature.
Allan Carrano, Spartanburg, SC Member Since July 2016 Artist Statement I've been an avid photographer most of my adult life, but I found a more secure livelihood in being a scientist...my other talent; not that I haven't had success as an amateur and part time professional photographer. I've been published in magazines and scenic calendars. I've also won awards, including Kodak's International Newspaper Awards (KINSA). Among some 250,000 entries, my photo placed 2nd in the color category, and was exhibited at Kodak's Epcot Pavilion in Disney World and in National Geographic Explorers Hall in Washington, D.C. Now that I've entered my retirement years, I am devoting full time to creating photographic art and sharing the results through Imagekind.
