Matt Liapis, Sandy, Utah Member Since September 2016 Artist Statement I started Mapsynergy in 2012 with the goal of making great looking trail maps that are easy to understand while being very technically accurate.
My ski resort maps start with researching each resort in detail from the resort provided map, lodging and other surrounding amenities even future resort proposals and master plans. Combined with actual elevation characteristics and current aerial photography of the mountain. I draw in all the features of the resort as they really sit. No warping or estimating the mountain needed.
Every resort is updated yearly or more often when new data becomes available. All resorts are consistent in data display, look and feel. These are not consigned by the resorts themselves. This brings a truly independent and non biased approach to the true mountain.
