Description This is a resto-mod replica of the 1963 Gran Sport Corvette made from the original body molds. Only five of Gran Sports were made, and intended for racing. Then came a US industry ban on racing and Chevy couldn't enter the cars. They were loaned out to private hands by Zora Duntov and raced without GM approval. They were dominant in sports car racing in speed because ultra light weight. This replica was patterned very closely to the originals, with the Weber carbureted 377 replace by a vintage block 327 with modern F.I. with side draft velocity stacks that look like the Webers. The larger wheels are the only external clue that it isn't original.http://www.grandsportregistry.com/63_history.htm
David Pettit, Denver Colorado Member Since June 2013 Artist Statement I got interested in travel photography in a big way when I was on a Coast Guard Cutter and wanted to record the beauty of the places I visited. Most of my focus today is automobiles. Denver is a town overflowing with people involved in the car hobby. Since I have been obsessed with the subject since early childhood it was a natural draw for me. I particularly enjoy auto detail shots. I started a Flickr group on the subject called Auto Jewelry. I still like to do travel and architectural shoots. I love Victorian, Art Deco, Art Nuevo and Arts & Crafts buildings. Colorado and its neighboring states have the most beautiful mountain scenery and red rock formations. It's hard not to be inspired.
