Hikers can hike here from two trailheads at opposite ends, one requiring a rope for rappelling down boulders and also swimming in potentially cold water. I took the "easier" "bottom up" route. Stream crossings of about 7 to 10 times and a lot of boulder climbing and hopping are required. Crossing streams implies that the trail disappears a lot and you'll have to find it again. The hike can be quite slow and I would not recommend it to anyone who does not enjoy hiking and/or photography but doable if you're careful. As we started the hike, park officials began searching for a missing hiker in the parking lot. He did the same hike that I did but lost his ways and was out there for two nights and two and a half days. A permit is absolutely necessary, for such incidents.
