Artist Statement As an avid traveler, seeing the world through artists' eyes is always exciting. I challenge myself to capture the essence of a place, and then the act of recreating my impression back in the studio is almost as exciting as being there. I keep a visual journal of quick watercolor sketches of the places I visit whether on my bicycle, Kayak or in a fantastic destination in the world.

I'm predominantly a landscape painter, both plein air and studio, however I also do quite a few commissioned pet portraits. These are really rewarding because I get to know the owner and the pet!
