Description A fun painting of an old building showing a brightly light window with open shutters. You know that it is time for Mardi Gras in New Orleans when the balconies are decorated with brightly colored beads. NOLA is the name on the street sign which stands for New Orleans Louisiana. The painting is slanted as might be viewed by a visitor who has had a little too much fun in the French Quarter!
Suzanne Theis, Houston Member Since November 2011 Artist Statement Hi, I have been living in the Houston area since 1981. I am originally from Louisiana. Two of my aunts are artists. Their beautiful paintings have been an inspiration to me. I am mostly a self-taught artist, but have taken several watercolor and acrylic classes. I have also attended classes at the Art Institute of Houston. The magic of painting has been calling me since childhood and it was not until my 50's that I ventured into my dreams. Hope that you enjoy my work!
