Description This photograph portrays a strong inner meaning.. Humans as such, are open to all thoughts and actions but society nurtures and directs the way they think leading to the process of learning and unlearning - of emotional growth and stunting.. This unevitable (and essential) process begins at a very young age. Some scientists claim that the process of learning commences at the fetal stage. The human mind continuously decides whats important at that particular point of time and learns activities accordingly what intrigues me more is the capacity of the mind to unlearn an activity to actively forget certain things that are no longer suitable to the situation,, and to adapt oneself to the new scenario by inculcating fresh knowledge thus the question arises -- what if we require the forgotten knowledge in the future? Is there a system restore button thats triggered automatically and the information recovered in a jiffy? Associations have been used to study this phenomenon ,, lets consider a person who had memorized a number a couple of years ago and forgotten the same cause it had become obsolete he may not be able to recall it correctly now but when given a choice between 10 numbers hes most likely to pick the correct one! Whats the process behind this? According to me the process of unlearning does not occur discard the information in its entirety there's this tiny imprint left behind which can generate the complete information if required to do so It's only a question of time when we learn how to unlock the brains potential and have the appropriate cracks and cheat codes on sale at eBay!!
Safvi Mahmood Member Since February 2008 Artist Statement I love photography… To me Photography is an art of observation. It's about finding something interesting in an ordinary place... Rightly said - It has little to do with the things you see and E V E R Y T H I N G to do with the way you see them! I don’t set up objects so that’s out of the question… people who don’t have an eye for photography and claim to be professionals should strive to look for hidden art and forms in their environment and not artificially set it up in the studio …
When Im not busy indulging in photography I heal human beings.. I m a doctor; graduated from Manipal in South India and am currently working as a Resident Pathologist. All in all I am a very easy going person who has mastered the art of striking a balance between work n play.I'm a kid at heart. Child like, but not childish. I retain the same sense of imagination and wonder that I had as a kid, even more so now, actually. I don't take things too seriously, but serious enough to be mature about things. I'm a diehard hobbyist!
