Description A little House Sparrow settles down to wait for the snow to stop. Within a short time after their introduction from Europe, these Sparrows adapt to the local environment. The Sparrows of the rainy climate of Vancouver, BC are plump, dark birds whereas those inhabiting Death Valley, California are slim, pale, sand-coloured birds. These changes took less than 60 years, influencing out ideas about the speed of evolutionary change in birds.
