Description At the end of my street is a large field and a lovely white house. Across the street on either side of the corner, the neighbors have horse related businesses. Back up my road in the other direction are more people that have cattle, horses, or just a dog or cat. A mile or so down the road from this field is a typical suburban intersection. The people in this area tend to bail whatever is growing in their fields in the fall...not sure who it gets fed to. This time, I actually went back and took the picture.
Alicia Heyman, Chattanooga Member Since May 2009 Artist Statement My background as a graphic designer strongly influences the way I make art. Sometimes I start out capturing a moment, a scene or an object photographically and then pull it into my computer and transform it. Every image speaks to me and guides me. Its more a matter of letting the image tell me what it wants to be. I use a Wacom digitizing tablet and pen that allows me to digitally draw and paint by hand so the image becomes part photography and part drawing. Sometimes I just start to create by sketching and scanning and add color and texture digitally. So its a multi-media process made up of many layers and spontaneously created.
