Description The winter of 2005-2006 was particularly rough in Vilseck and other parts of Bavaria. I remember there being snow on the ground (thanks to one of many blizzards) from the day after Thanksgiving until two days after the beginning of spring. I also remember it being very, very cold most of the time in between. Granted, I was born and bred in Baltimore, so I'm not used to really cold weather, but still... One of the locals later informed me that it was considered to have been one of the roughest winters in almost fifty years but, as far as he was concerned, it wasn't much worse than normal.
And people wonder why I've decided to move to Oakland, where 73% of the daylight hours are sunshine hours.
The barn pictured here is the same barn that you can see in the picture in this gallery entitled, simply, 'The Barn.'
