Description This watercolor painting was inspired from a photograph I took during a vacation to the ocean several years ago. My daughter had finished her lunch then decided to eat mine, too. She only took a few bites, covered my sandwich with so much sand it was inedible, then toddled off to play.
Lora Garcelon, Howell, Michigan Member Since January 2008 Artist Statement I have always loved creating things with my hands. As a child I preferred playing with brightly colored buttons and fabric scraps to toys. I first discovered watercolor in a high school art class. I painted occasionally for the next 18 years but didn't get serious about it until 2005. I love watercolor for its glow and transparency and especially love the bright colors that can be achieved with this medium. The very young and the very old are my favorite subjects to paint but I enjoy painting other subject matter as well.
