Self taught, I have had a long journey through ill health, and the experience has naturally fed into my work, much of the recent stuf is a reaction to the confinement. It is vibrant and colourful and energetic.

I work in various media. In experiments working towards richer colour and more exciting representations of reflection, energy and shadow I have produced and exhibited work in pen and ink, watercolours, painted glass and mirrors, pastels, acrylics and oils.

I have also worked in enamels, and many of my oil paintings have sculptural elements with enamel panels on copper and the use of metal foils and other mixed media integral to the work.

This year, 2010, inspired by the Cote d'Azure and Mas de Cadignac in the south of France, as well as the amazing landscapes in Ireland I am working on a new series of paintings using raw materials from that region.

I have also worked in interior, web and theatre design, created innovative christmas decorations, leaded glass windows and garden designs, painted and designed cards, kites and clothes, illustrations for books and book covers, and painted a number of commissioned portraits and made a series of re constructive drawings and paintings of ancient monuments for the Department of the Environment Historic Monuments division in Northern Ireland.
