Artist Statement Hruby Handcrafted is a family owned business providing Custom Collections of Art & Photography.

During family road trips, I would always take "postcard" pictures in my mind. My childhood dream was to be able to go into a gas station and purchase a postcard with my photo on it. It wasn't long before I got my first camera and I used it until it literally would no longer work no matter how new the batteries were. It also wasn't long before my childhood dreams grew bigger and fantasized about my postcards selling in grocery stores and gift shops.

During my elementary and high school years, I took as many photography courses as I could. I always had a camera or a vision of what my next "postcard" was going to be. During college, I became very interested in medicine and began working at a local hospital. My passion for photography was challenged by my strong desire to work in the medical field. I ultimately gained two college degrees in English and Professional Photography & Digital Imaging, yet I used neither degree and continued working my medical job to pay the bills. After 15 years, I was laid off from my position so I decided to leave the Monday thru Friday 9 to 5 job world in order to pursue my childhood dream. I created Hruby Handcrafted with the desire to create art and share my passion with others.
