Artist Statement Interested in drawing and painting since childhood, Diane pursued a study
of Fine Arts in college and went on to get a Masters Degree in Art education. In addition to teaching high school art, she later worked as an account executive for a large corporation and left there to begin her own business in decorative painting , painting murals, faux finishes and custom furniture.

In 2004, after retiring from business, she and her husband decided to spend the winters in Florida. She signed up for a botanical drawing course at Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota and fell in love with the discipline. She received her certificate in Botanical Illustration in 2008.

As an avid gardener, Botanical Illustration was a perfect marriage of her love of plants and her love of drawing and painting.
