Leeladhar noted about this work: 'I like to combine Western and Eastern influences, traditional and modern techniques.For this artwork, I painted traditional Japanese Enso circles with a Japanese brush and Shodo ink.Then, I composed the Ensos digitally with a computer and printed it on handmade vat paper.' The Enso, a simple circle, is a Zen icon, and significantly represents samsara or the circle of life and death. Considered an important representation on the nature of reality, the sign can stand for many aspects of life including the Tao, the void, the infinite, mere existence, impermanence, the loss of self and enlightenment.'
