Description Guarding swift Gulf currents, tarpon fishing, sailboats, and tourists toasting on the beach since 1888, this lighthouse stands on the southern end of Gasparilla Island, Florida. Planted my easel in the sand and painted on location.
Diane Mannion, Venice Member Since October 2012 Artist Statement My adopted state of Florida both inspires and terrifies me. Sky, water, vivid colors, blazing light... hurricanes! There's an energy here that drives my painting. My challenge is translating this visual chaos with paint. My blog is an archive of my work and a way of sharing some of the techniques I've gathered along the way.
