Description A peaceful countryside landscape in Piedmont, Italy. View of the Einaudi vineyards, personal property of the second President of Italy and home to some very nice wine. This is not a painting nor a digitally manipulated photography; it's a pinhole photo on Polaroid film. The softness, the colors and the lack of people result in a 'nave art' look is what I search in this technique. Pinhole photography is an ancient science and art, its basing concept dating back thousands of years. The image is captured without the use of a lens: instead, the light goes through a tiny hole and simply projects on the opposite side of an empty box. This results in photos that have a very recognizable quality to them: the focus is soft, the mood is soft.
Andrea Campi, Milano, Italy Member Since September 2007 Artist Statement I am an amateur photographer passionately working on growing my skills and style. I shoot mostly film (negative and Polaroid) on a range of serious and less serious cameras, looking for the unexpected, the forgotten and the ignored.
Being a keen city dweller, my cities often play a starring role in my photography; above all Milano, Italy, where I live and work.
