Artist Statement I started out in photography at around 12 years old with a Russian-built Fed rangefinder camera - I think it was a 5L. I can still remember the smell of the leather case!

At university, I bought my first SLR, a Pentax P30n, and happily photographed with that for a few years. In the mid 90's, my interest waned somewhat, and I took photos mainly of friends and events with an Olympus point-n-shoot camera. In 1999, I bought my wife a digital camera (an Olympus C2000Z), and was soon using it more than she did! She later bought smaller, higher-resolution point-n-shoot digicams. In September 2006, I finally decided to splash out on a digital SLR (a Sony Alpha 100), and have rediscovered the creative angle of photography.
