Description Here's a picture of a very beautiful cathedral in the city of Bayeux, France. It was in this cathedral that William, Duke of Normandy (later known as William the Conqueror) forced Harold Godwinson to swear an oath of allegiance to him. Harold's subsequent breaking of that oath led to William's invasion of England in 1066 and Harold's death at the battle of Hastings in the same year.
The cathedral was once the home of the Bayeux Tapestry, which is 70m long and depicts William's conquest of England.
