Description I let my imagination wander on this one and built texture within each layer for a bright, bold explosion of color. I love the cool blues floating in the background beneath the fiery yellows and oranges. Blue is also the hottest part of a flame because it is consuming the most oxygen.I also painted wheat in the yellow layer that is burned but not consumed. The title, Chain Reaction, comes from the atmosphere being unable to contain the explosion once the spark has been lit.
Robin Winningham, Charlotte Member Since September 2015 Artist Statement I am a full-time artist painting with acrylic and Flashe vinyl paint. I enjoy creating abstract art because it heightens my senses and takes me outside of reality. Using color and light as inspiration, I usually don't start painting with an end result in mind. I enjoy how the look and feel of the painting can change (sometimes multiple times) before I feel that it is complete.
Thank you for viewing my work and I hope you find something you enjoy to make your own!
