Description Watercolor on Arches 140 lb cold press 10 x 13; framed 20 1/2 x 24 1/2. Each morning I awoke to see the cat sitting on the rock wall surveying the land for prey and the cute little out building cast in warm shadows. The monks baked their bread in this house from the many chestnut trees on the property here in the Dordogne region of France. It has lasted for several centuries. Wet-into-wet technique.

Artist Statement I am a native Oregonian, mother of 3, grandmother of 3 and wife of 55 years who had found creative outlets as an interior designer and business owner before focusing my creative energy to being a full-time artist 18 years ago.

My inspiration comes from family travels, wine, reflections and shadows on water and other surfaces, scenes with people doing ordinary but interesting things and portraits. I can't resist painting an interesting face! I prefer to paint realistically but lately my emphasis has been on more expressionistic and abstract subjects.

I taught my first workshop on Exploring Liquid Watercolors Using webbing, textures and other techniques--"Making It Your Own," and am interested in teaching artists how to start their own critique groups.
