Artist Statement Penny Weber is a full time children’s illustrator from Long Island, New York where she’s lived all of her life. Her work is mostly acrylic but she loves to experiment with mixed media.
Her path has included greeting card illustration, residential children’s murals, and commissioned caricatures and portraits (all of which she still dabbles in).
It was about 12 years after she took a night course at The School of Visual Arts in New York City on Children’s Book Illustration that Penny finally decided to get into the business. She quickly signed with Wendy Mays and Janice Onken to be represented by WendyLynn & Company and has illustrated many books including, One Of Us published by Tilbury House Publications in June of 2009.
Penny has a husband, three children, a cat and she is heavily lobbying for a puppy.
