Description The Circuit Paul Ricard is a motorsport race track built in 1969 at Le Castellet, near Marseille, in France. Opened on 19 April 1970, its innovative facilities made it one of the safest motor racing circuits in the world at the time of its opening. Constructed in less than a year, and with famous drivers such as Jean-Pierre Beltoise and Henri Pescarolo consulted on its 5.8km layout, the Circuit Paul Ricard opened its doors in April 1970, before staging its maiden F1 race won by Jackie Stewart from local hero Francois Cevert the following year.
