Artist Statement Orin Henselyn grew up in the bay area where he started pursing photography from at a young age. For high school Orin attended San Francisco School of the Arts where he learned the art of black & White photography in the darkroom. Later he moved to Seattle where he continued to pursue photography at Cornish College of the Arts. Most recently Orin has graduated from Antioch University where he completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree in “Society, Art and technology”. Orin has studied under various local photographers including Lance Mercer (at the Photographic Center Northwest where he learned the art of live music photography through hands on workshops as well as live shoots).

Currently Orin is shooting freelance in an effort to build his professional portfolio in order to thrive in the competitive world of music photography. In addition he regularly shoots shows for “Culture Yard“, and “Jah Breeze Productions” , two local reggae promotion company’s that brings many big acts to the Northwest. He has exhibited his work in various Seattle art walks, and party’s. Orin’s unique perspective draws the viewer in allowing them to experience the moment in time with the performer.
