Description At first i didn't enjoy this image - i'm wearing my glasses still, its ever so slightly out of focus, you can see the curve of my tummy, and the angle was kind of odd. But, the more i looked at it, the more i started to appreciate these things. It reminded me that these are some of the reasons that we unfortunately put so much shame in nudity. We see 'imperfection' and race to cover it up. Many of us see too many imperfections in our bodies, because of stereotypes that we've learned through the media - ways we are lead to believe we should look by the shows we watch. I say that we should enjoy ourselves, life is too short, and shaming ourselves is simply not worth it. I chose this image because of it's honesty. I liked that I actually forgot to take my glasses off. It left me looking a little bit geeky - something that I really am. I also appreciate the prospect that an image like this would never appear in a magazine. I am too curvy and simply not muscular enough for that. But, I also happen to like my body how it is. I shouldn't have to feel ashamed of who I am because I'm not a certain body type. This image shows my body in fair detail - it's just the body of an average human male. Some might appreciate it, some might look on with indifference or even disgust, and some might laugh because they've gotten to see me completely naked. If i've made you smile, I'm glad. If my mere lack of clothing has somehow offended you, please realize that I can't share your philosophy any longer. My body isn't an object of shame, and neither is yours.
