Description CRAYOLA CANYON by Lynn Bauer - The Gorman Hills can appear to have been painted with a box of crayons in the spring. Beautiful swirls of colors blanket the hillsides and canyons of this area in the Tejon Pass. For people driving by on California's Interstate 5, it must appear that they have entered the Land of Oz! Most people see it from a distance...but, I like to get out and into the flowers to experience this incredible sight up close and personal! Every year is a bit different with it's ever-changing color palette. The main flowers in this image are purple phacelia, some type of yellow desert sunflower (I believe) and bright orange California poppies.
