Artist Statement Abstract
Envisioning Architecture through Art • Inspired by topics of resiliency, nature and the recognition of the human spirit. All collaborating through art compositions that integrate architectural perceived structures, natural settings and compromised environments through diverse art languages, architectural principles and art techniques. Artistically compromised but architecturally charged, the art represents an emotive architecture and then allows the art to influence the architectural endeavors and vice versa through an incessant occupation in design and creative undertakings.

About the Artist
I was born in Barquisimeto, Venezuela where I lived until the age of nineteen and attended architecture school for two years before I relocated to the USA and eventually receiving a master’s degree in architecture from The University of Michigan. I have practice architecture in various architectural firms in the metropolitan area of Detroit, Michigan and has most recently worked as a college professor and self-supporting designer. Currently I work independently as a freelance architect designer and artist in my studio in my residence.

Mediums and Inspiration
I use acrylic on wood boards and canvas in addition to other art materials including graphite, pencils, modeling paste and pastels. I find inspiration in textures, surfaces and languages found in the natural environment, human anatomy, music theory and contemporary design. The art then is tectonic, multi surfaced and visually energetic. All my work is original and I do not mass-produce. I welcome commissions of different sizes and great client and people experiences.
