Artist Statement Artist Bio - D. H. McKee:

D. H. McKee is a contemporary abstract and digital artist from London, Ontario, Canada, and living in Kitchener-Waterloo. He has a degree in English and Film from the University of Western Ontario, with a focus on literature, pop-culture, and visual media. He works in the high-tech sector, while making connections and influencing the arts community. He was on the Board of Directors at Button Factory Arts for 6 years, serving as Secretary, Vice President, then as President.

His education has helped him integrate film and video aesthetics into his artwork: video stylistic themes work their way into the paintings, and one can discern letterboxing, test patterns, scrambled pay-television signals and oversaturated colours in the works. It is in this manner that he explores different mediums and surface techniques.
