Description In 2003 I was living in a suburb of beautiful Nashville, Tennessee. One morning instead of my usual trip to photograph rural areas or a nearby nature preserve, I decided to make a photographic study of just the plants I could find in my own backyard. From these first images I made several variations, including this beautiful yellow, modified dandelion flower with seeds, on a white background.
Douglas Griffin, Nashville Member Since August 2007 Artist Statement I've always had one foot in the world of visual art and the other in music. I studied music composition in college and was very influenced by aleatoric, or "chance" compositions. I then started creating much of my music and visual art through aleatoric means, adding compositing techniques learned from Photoshop effects guru, Kai Krause. Somehow, all these disparate but harmonious influences come together in my art works. I hope you enjoy them.
