Description DeBary is a quaint community in Southwest Volusia County,Florida. It was named after a wealthy New York wine importer, Frederick DeBary, who built the historic DeBary Hall mansion in 1872 on his vast property in this area. He also started an orange plantation here and hired a caretaker to look after the place when he was up north. In this scene DeBary has stopped his hunting wagon at the caretaker's cabin to talk business. The setting sun casts a pink glow over the scene.
Robert Wince, New Smyrna Beach, Florida Member Since September 2009 Artist Statement I have been painting most of my life as a self-taught artist, but I have benefited from numerous classes and workshops. My work has been shown in galleries and outdoor art shows and I have won awards for my efforts. I paint mainly in acrylic and oil and my work ranges in size from 5"x7" to 36"x 60". I enjoy traveling and setting up my field easel in some beautiful area and painting what I see. Perhaps you've seen me painting in one of our national parks or hiking on a mountain trail. Many of the original paintings are still available for sale. email: robertwince1@gmail.com
