Artist Statement Kathryn Risley graduated from Rhode Island School of Design in 1977 majoring in Apparel Design. She worked as a designer in the fashion industry in NYC for 20 years.

Kathryn Risley owned and operated Kathryn Risley Boutique an upscale woman's clothing store in Houston, Texas from 2000-2009. She currently lives in Houston, Texas.

Kathryn has worked with digital media for at least 8 years. 'Digital media enables one to work in watercolor, oil, and other paint mediums all in one picture. It's brilliant and galleries are now reconizing it as a valid form of art.' Having a passion for animals and people has helped her develop these wonderful works of art. She also paints in her spare time. 'My strength is my sense of color and being free to experiment.'
