Artist Statement Charisse attributes her creative ability from her family as she was surrounded by artists, poets, dancers and songwriters growing up. Her sister and her late grandmother, both very talented artisans. She has also been inspired by her sister-in-law, an award-winning fine artist.

In Charisse words: “Creativity has always been an huge part of my life and I am excited to be able to share my inspiration with others. I like to be spontaneous when I paint and I let my emotions and instincts
guide me. It is always exhilarating to watch an image evolve as you transfer color to canvas! There are so many great artists that have had an impression on me...but if I had to say one in particular, it would be Georgia O'Keeffe."
