Description I was born in El Paso, and went to college here, but I had not heard of the elephant on Transmountain Road. We had to go see it for ourselves. Sure enough, it is easy to spot this Mastodon charging up the mountain side towards the broadcast antennae.

Artist Statement I am a retired university lecturer by vocation, but I am a photographer, writer, and very occasional voice talent by avocation.

My wife and I love to travel - usually pulling our little camper, but we made trips to Machu Picchu and The Galapagos in 2007, and 2 weeks driving in England to start 2008. For a retirement reward to ourselves in early June 2012, we spent two weeks in France. We started in Nice and then took a week long cruise up the Rhone River before spending just a few days in Paris.

In January 2014, we spent a fantastic week on the Amazon River above Iquitos, Peru.

I have been taking pictures for over 50 years, so I have quite a variety of images. Check my website if you are interested in some old pix.
