Description I wrote this Monday, December 7, 2009 Letting Our Inner Child OutWhy are so many living in a concrete world; one of emotional disconnection and sensory overload? Why are we changing from life of vibrant fire to a smoldering ashen wet sticky mess? Why choose a life of just going through the motions and repeating the same steps? Could it be, we have completely lost our creativity?I was thinking the other day about how so many tools that are given to us as children we simply throw away after high school or college when we move into adult hood. Because thats what we think we are supposed to do! We actually make the conscious decision ourselves. Spend lots of money and buy new shiny stuff. Get into a credit mess because we must have that brand new TV! Well Ive got news for you, that stuff has no personal energy for you!Beginning with crayons, we start to make pictures (or scribbles) of how we perceive our life. Then we move on markers, glitter and glue. In grade school we are given paints and scissors to make things. Scraps of paper collaged into images of the world, from our point of view. We get paint by number sets, which really, I never quite understood. How could they tell us where the color is supposed to go? Wasnt I supposed to use my imagination for that? We get legos, wooden logs and lettered building blocks. Dolls to dress, and cars to race, then we grow some more and elementary school is erased. We cover our books with brown paper bags, writing all over it, sometimes letting others write too. Scribbling the words filled with meaning to us. As the senior school years come into play, we plaster posters of our idols, bands, pretty things and such, all over the place! We take our memories to the life ahead, in our much treasured high school year books.I didnt go to college but I will use my imagination since, I still happen to have one! In college Id guess you finally start to figure out that your mind is your own even though youve been using i
