I have been painting for seven years mostly oil, but have painted some acrylic and a few watercolors. When I work with oil, I am reminded of a world full of wonderful color. I think that painting is a spectacular freedom of expression. Whether, it is an abstract of paradise distorted or an impressionistic landscape of a magical land in dreams of amazing colors; in the end it’s all worth the effort. I just let the oil flow onto the canvas, as a thought that I just can not get out of my mind or a photo that must be painted. I know a piece is done when I can sit back and feel very much at peace with the painting and myself. When my work is going well, I am filled with an inner peace. When people see my work, I’d like them to feel that inner peace and joy.

I like painting the sky with a lot of color. My three favorites colors are cerulean blue, camden yellow and burnt sienna. My favorite paintings are abstracts and impressionistic landscapes, however I also paint seascapes, still life and animals.

I also paint on commission from photos. My inspiration came from impressionist paintings of Vincent Van Goh and Claude Monet. My favorite painting of Monet’s is the spectacular Water Lilies Green Reflection, and Van Goh’s Sunflowers. These works typify the peace and joy I hope to share with my paintings.
