Artist Statement My mother, Cheryl Wallace, was an artist in Russell County, Virginia. She was an art teacher at Lebanon High School. She grew up in Castlewood Virginia. Her art is very special to us. Her work has been shown when she was alive at a few galleries, mostly at the William King Art Center, and at Southwest Virginia Community College.

There are many pieces I would like to share with everyone for the first time. Her style is traditional, and many of her paintings are of houses she lived in, a creative rendition of her school, or of people she knew. I have her paintings everywhere in my house, and some people ask if it's hard to look at them now that she is gone. It is not hard, I love them!
