Artist Statement Sufiboy makes music from plants, animal organs, dancers bodies and sausages using bioactivity translators. He also plays a mean eggslicer! Now incorporating circuit-bent devices and a laptop running Live, Audacity and Leafcutter John software and traditional instruments such as dilruba and bass. You can buy sufiboy merchandise. Sufiboy also plays as part of the Exeter based improvising collective Children of the Drone, recently (Feb 3rd 2006) played on BBC Radio 3's Mixing It, and as part of the experimental trio o b j e c t . Sufiboy has also collaborated with 'music made without the (in)convenience of instruments' collective BLENDER.

This course is an opportunity to get an overview of the marketing potential
of the internet for your creative business. Starting with how to buy your
own web domain to creating an online marketing strategy, you will be
introduced to blogging, podcasting, online merchandising, selling on Ebay,
publishing on demand, and generating income from online video and audio
content. The content of the course will be demonstrated, with an opportunity
for discussion and practical exercises of how to use HTML to link to
websites. Particular attention will be paid to no-cost and low-cost
options.


Who should attend?

The course is intended for those working in the creative industries, with
the aim of increasing their presence on the web, whether to increase income,
access new markets or to get greater exposure for their creative business.
This course is suitable for Beginners and Intermediate users of the
Internet.


Simon Egan is Director of Directory of Light, online marketing consultants,
and has his own creative practice working with sound and electronic media.
