Artist Statement Born and raised in Fukuoka, Japan, living in NY since 1997.
My background is theatre. I've been in theatre industry over a decade as a set designer/assistant/scenic artist/carpenter. Being in the world of meticulous planning and collaboration, I truly cherish the freedom of creating collages.
I am a texture junky in 2-D and 3-D. I layer found objects and all kinds of paints. I call my style "Extremely painterly collage works with a burst of vintage flare."
