Statement: My paintings explore aspects of the human condition: not accidental, not planned. The formal – the emotional – the graphic – the painterly. The autonomy of unstructured marks and free gestures of the hand by the unconscious.

Jan has spent her life in art, painting, teaching, exhibiting in the North-West of England. She now is reaching out to a greater audience through the Internet, looking to share her vision and work. She owned her own gallery in Chester, designed and painted for the UKs largest pub chains including, Greenall Whitleys, Grand Met. Catering, Ind Coop, Thistle Hotels and Imperial Inns and Taverns. She has produced documentaries that have been shown at FACT, Liverpool.
Jan sat on the Board of the Friends of the Liverpool Tate Gallery.
