Artist Statement I originally received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Interior Design from Pratt Institute, but shortly after starting my first job in a large New York architectural firm, I returned to school to study architecture. I received a Master of Architecture Degree from Columbia University and worked as an architect beginning in 1972.

My creative journey has been greatly influenced by my architectural background and has progressed from representational depictions to semi-abstract, surrealistic compositions of simplified, geometric or organic forms, rendered in unexpected and dramatic colors. The expression of my personal, emotional responses to landscapes and architectural forms has become the focus of my work.

Since 2003, I have studied drawing, pastel and watercolor painting at the Creative Arts Workshop in New Haven and at other New York and New England area workshops. I have been in solo and group shows in Connecticut for the past ten years. I am a member of CT Women Artists, New Haven Paint and Clay Club and The New Britain Museum of American Art.
